Step Up to Read

Step Up is a reading development program for children grades K-5th

The program's purpose is to develop literacy skills among our K-5th grade children in need of assitance to excel in school and in life. The overall goal is to increase literacy health among our students.  Presently the studnets meet for 60 minutes (divided into 20 minute intervals) once a week.  Students meet with a reading specialist and reading tutors.  The program focuses on reading aloud, enriching games, and projects that help teach children critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in thier phenomic awareness.  Weekly assessment is done through time with specialist.

Registration Forms

Completed registration forms are required for all participating students, including youth leaders. In addition, when transportation is utilized an additional permission form is required.

Please Note: Completing the registration form does not mean a student is enrolled in the FUTURE After School Program. Notification in the form of a letter from Unity Center will either confirm a starting date or place the child on the waiting list.
