Youth Leaders

Our 7th-12th grade youth work on and develop strong leadership skills as part of the FUTURE afterschool program. By becoming youth leaders, they become a critical part of our operations at FUTURE.

Our 7th-12th grade youth work on and develop strong leadership skills as part of the FUTURE afterschool program. By becoming youth leaders, they become a critical part of our operations at FUTURE.

To be eligibe to be a youth leader, youth must have attended the FUTURE afterschool program during the previous year. Youth Leaders are then selected through an application and interview process. The students selcted then participate in a required training program.

YOUTH LEADER DAILY ACTIVITIES:

  • Snack service and clean-up.
  • Tutoring.
  • Managing monthly Bible verse memory program.
  • Assisting Project Leaders.
  • Collecting and sharing prayer concerns.
  • Maintaining school supply caddies for Homework Time.
  • Changing messages on the outdoor sign.
  • Assisting Unity Center Staff as needed.

 

DC TRIP 

DC 1

Every 3-5 years we take a group of youth leaders to Washington DC during Spring Break. This serves as an educational trip during which participants learn about American government, discover how to be responsible Christian citizens, and visit historic sites. Our next trip is scheduled for October 2018.

 

 

 

 

GETTING INVOLVED IN GOVERNMENT

In March 2015, Unity Center Youth Leaders participated in Lobbying for Tuition Equality in Tennessee at the Capitol in Nashville.

We look forward to supporting our Youth Leaders in many such endeavors in the future.
